Below are descriptions and prices for some of the classes I offer. I also offer private, individualized instruction for individuals and groups. Contact me for a schedule or to request a class.
Introduction to Glass Fusing
Love glass and want to learn how to work with it? This half-day workshop is for you. Learn:
- safety in the glass studio
- how heat affects glass
- different fusing styles (tack fuse, full fuse, slumping)
- cutting glass
- designing a project
You'll work on two projects: a tack-fused nightlight or votive candle holder, and a full fused 8"x8" dish. Your projects will be ready for pick-up a couple of days after the class.
Stringer (thin glass rods) can be used in a variety of ways in a fused glass project. Two striking effects are created by (1) lining the stringer up to create thin stripes, or (2) carefully spacing the stringer to create symmetrical bubbles. Both methods will be demonstrated, and you will choose one method to make your own 10" x 10" masterpiece.
