The abuses of the current administration have caused such pain and distress to so many. The foundations upon which the country was built are being challenged. This series reflects the fractured nature of America’s institutions, and the hope that although fractured, they can be held together and repaired.
This series explores the tenuous nature of our connections: how little connection is necessary for a piece to hold together? To create these, I make a piece, then smash it and reassemble the pieces like a jigsaw puzzle, playing with the negative space.

Multiple firings turn multi-colored glass into flowing rivers of pattern.

Strips of glass are layered, then fused, creating a woven texture. Decorative, sculptural pieces have holes between the strips, while plates have a backing of clear to make them functional.
Alternating strips of different colored glass are fused together, then cut apart and reformed in an offset pattern.
