a glass tombstone with the text "Right to Choose 1973-2022"

Right to Choose

This tombstone refers to a woman’s right to choose to terminate a pregnancy established in the Roe v. Wade case in 1973. This right was overturned by the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. In a decision written by Justice Alito, the court held that the constitution does not confer a right to abortion, and gives individual states the full power to regulate any aspect of abortion not protected by federal law.
